Arrival at the Wizard Tower

Kain waited patiently for the fumbling newcomer to get to the top. A few of those slips sounded awful. He was half-expecting her to appear crawling up the steps covered in bruises. Seeing she was relatively fine, he continued to lead the way to the Headmaster's, heading down a long hallway hung with banners that pictured each and every crest in the kingdoms. "Yes, I am," he replied shortly.

He sensed a strange presence, and then he noticed some kind of light coming from behind him. He turned around suddenly, his eyes growing wide when he saw the glow coming from her. He had never been told what she could do or what she was capable of, and to say the least, he was rather afraid. Light and heat usually meant explosions, fire: destruction. He wracked his brain for a shield spell, but what little magic he knew was useless to him in this situation. "Whatever you're doing, you need to stop it!" he demanded.

Kain realized he was gripping the hilt of his sword, and he forced his hand to relax. Letting go, he dropped his arm to his side again. "It's... it's alright," he said awkwardly, not exactly the sort of person who ran around comforting people. But his thoughts were interrupted by the sound of footsteps. Or rather two sets of them by the chaotic blend of them. He looked down one of the halls as a door was flung open, and two young men burst through.
The one young man with black hair and in red mage robes was the first to speak as he shoved his blonde haired, slighter companion roughly aside. "I heard explosions!" he panted, as they had run all the way over from wherever they had been. "And they weren't made by me," he added with a slightly miffed tone.
The other one pushed his companion aside just as hard, but with a rough nudge of his elbow in the dark haired boy's side. "Yah! Are we under attack?"
Kain glared a the two of them. "Nothing to see here, and... no. Just go back to whatever you were doing."
But they had already caught sight of Celine. Totally ignoring the soldier, the black haired boy straightened up all stiff and proper like and sauntered right on up to Celine. "Ah, who's this? The new girl, right? A pleasure to meet you my dear," he said, bowing to her.

Kain rolled his eyes. "You two escort her to the Headmaster's then. At this rate, I'll be even more late for my summons." He turned around and went right back down the stairs, leaving the other two to Celine.
The dark haired one just completely ignored Kain and continued to watch Celine and hear what she had to say. "Oh, right, my name is Redfox of Bloodmoon." He pointed at his friend. "And he's Ferris."
"I was going to introduce myself!" Ferris growled.
He ignored him. "And if you ever need help with your explosions, just come find me," he said with a rather mischievous grin.

Ferris stepped up beside Redfox and hung one arm across the taller boy's shoulders, leaning heavily on him. "Yah, we should take on some responsibility and not stand around awkwardly gawking at the cute girl."
Redfox just gave him a sideways look. "Oh? Is THAT what I'm doing?" He shrugged Ferris off and let him flounder and pinwheel his arms around as he tried to get his balance. Redfox just sidled up alongside Celine and took her arm in his. "Well, this fine warrior is now going to escort the lovely damsel to the Headmaster while putzhead over there makes himself into yet another impressive pancake on the pavement." Ferris eventually did so, making a rather hard fall onto the floor.
"Ow." He mumbled into the stone.
But Redfox just escorted Celine on down the hall, a slight, crooked grin on his face, leaving Ferris to scramble up unceremoniously and hurry after them.

Redfox mused for a moment, still leading her by the arm. "Hmm, well, this is a safe place of study and training for wizards. You probably knew that bit already. Basically, the Headmaster gives us novices daily lessons on how to use magic. Though sometimes he is busy, so we go study and train on our own or ask visiting Wizards for trainings." He looked at Celine. "You'll probably need special lessons though. We've never had a female wizard before. Plus, your powers sound a little... strange. At least from what all the rumors say."
Ferris popped in on the conversation flanking Celine's other side. "Yah, is it true you turned Bax into a penguin?"
Redfox reached over and smacked him on the head. There was an "ow" from Ferris. "Everyone knows that's a stupid joke that YOU probably started anyway..." He trailed off and looked at Celine. "That is a joke... right?"

Redfox frowned. "It's alright now though," he said honestly. "You're here now, and we all protect each other. That freak can't hurt you anymore."
"It'd be nice if he couldn't hurt anyone anymore," Ferris said with a sigh.
Redfox shrugged. "Yes, but so far the headmaster is forbidding anyone from going out and attacking him. He says is wizards get pulled into the war, it'll be nothing but chaos for us. We don't know what Bax is capable of."
"Of course, we got Celine now," Ferris said wrapping an arm around Celine's shoulders, "and you heard her: she kicked Bax's butt."
