She stared at him in slight horror as he just wolfed one down, no, vacuumed one on down his gullet without so much as a chew, swallow, and a breath. She shook her head. "No, no, I ate plenty of pancakes today already. It's all yours." She went back to the counter and returned with a smaller wad of tinfoil. "Almost forgot, I made you some sausages too." She opened the tinfoil and rolled out six juicy, well-cooked links onto his pancakes. "Would you like a seat? And some syrup..?"

Jasper happily pranced to the closest seat and motioned towards the one across from him for Sio. "I don't need any syrup. Its sweet enough," he explained. He picked up one of the sausages and took a delicate nibble of it. He nodded approvingly. "Did you actually make these yourself? All for me?" He narrowed his eyes and pointed a sausage critically at his friend.

Sio sat down across from him as he beckoned. She grabbed the corner of his pancake and tore off a little bit, feeling slightly peckish. She put it in her mouth and chewed slowly, savoring the bite. It was pleasantly sweet. She always tried her best to make them so. Sugar was hard to come by, but well worth its use. She looked a little flustered when he made such a statement, and she looked away, her cheeks growing a little pink. "Yah, so? It's no big deal," she said stubbornly.

Jasper finished the rest of his sausage and picked up his next pancake. He folded it in half but didn't take a bite. He grinned at his friend instead. "I'm going to tell everyone that Sio made pancakes all for me. They'll be so jealous they won't know what to do." He took his bite, keeping his eyes on the girl across from him.

She huffed. "Sure, whatever. Don't know why you're making a big deal out of it. They're just pancakes..." She set her sketchbook on the table and flipped it open, staring at the map as if it was the most amazing thing in the world.

"Pancakes are very important. Never underestimate the importance of pancakes. Nothing good will ever come from it." Jasper finished his pancake and leaned across the table, trying to see what was in the sketchbook. "What are you drawing now?"
