Kain blinked and his eyes focused on her, sort of. He shut his eyes and slowly lifted his hand, resting it on his forehead. "Miss Bell..." he murmured quietly. "What are... what am I doing here? Where am I?" His voice was very quiet, hardly above a whisper. It seemed to take him quite the effort to move and talk, as seen by the way his hand was shaking slightly.

"You're in the potions room. Me, Aeorlas and Ferris brought you up here. I don't know how, but I healed you the best as I could." She said, still very worried about his condition. "Is there anything I can do for you? Get some food and water for you?" She had noticed he was slightly shaking.

With a grunt, he tried to sit up, but then he flinched and dropped back down on the cot. "I-I'm fine," he said harshly. "I just need to lie down." He was most certainly alive, and Aeorlas had claimed the dark spell had been cured by her, but Kain was still in a state. If anything, at least his complexion was no longer deathly pale, and he was conscious.

"Are you sure?" Celine asked, still worried. She placed the back of her hand onto his forehead to see if he was lying or he was just really exhausted. She tried to sense if something still lingered in him. "Well... How did you end up in such a state? Were you attacked?" She was still very curious.

He winced when she touched him, but it was not physical pain that made him do so. In fact, her hand felt rather cool, and it was soothing. He glanced away from her, not wanting to meet her gaze. It was stupid that he felt this way, but then again... "It was dark magic," he said, "but I don't know what or who sent it. I was heading back to the tower when I was struck from behind. I... I think I blacked out. When I came to, I headed back here. I didn't run into anyone on the way."

So he was attacked. She lifted her hand from his head and sighed sadly. "How unfortunate... It must have been one of those goons... or maybe Bax himself." She felt herself growl a bit at the mention of Bax's name. "Oh yes... Bax decided to show up. We have no idea why though." She sighed sadly, looking down at her hands. "Look, I'm going to get you something to eat ok?"

He was trying to remember something, anything, that might cue him in one who or what attacked him. He racked his brain for any sort of clue, even the slightest tidbit. Nothing. Just nothing and more nothing. He remember walking through the forest, coming down the road. Then the feeling of... something... he couldn't even remember what had come upon him. Just walking, then darkness, then staggering around like some drunk as he tried his hardest just to reach the tower. And now here he was. He glanced up at her as she spoke. "Bax..." he said, his voice the slightest growl. "I... I wouldn't be all the surprised if one of his thugs took a pot shot at me." He regarded her a moment when she offered food. "You don't have to do anything for me," he said lowly, glancing away.

Celine sighed. "Well... Are you sure? You're shaking quite a bit. Have you eaten anything?" Kain was stubborn, she wasn't going to lie. But she was determined to offer him something to make him feel better. There was just so much chaos today... She just needed to calm down for once... perhaps think about something nice. Cooking food the old fashioned way was a good way to get all of this evilness off of her mind.

Kain had his arm over his eyes now. Hiding his gaze from her. Mouth drawn in a firm line, he spoke cryptically, as if he did not really trust what he was saying. "Sure," he said quietly. "Do as you must."

"Alright!" She said with a cheer. She stood up once again and stretched herself out. "I don't know any food spells... So... D-Do you know any?" She laughed, somewhat embarrassed. "My apologies... I really am a bit silly. A girl having this powerful kind of magic really doesn't know any other kind of magic..." She faceplamed.

Kain did not know any food spells, not really. What little magic he knew had been more or less imposed upon him, so he had no area of study he excelled or even tried to excel in. Food spells were the last thing ever on his mind to learn, even if they did have their uses. What he knew was a very basic shield spell and one that could throw his opponent back up to ten feet. Most magic eluded him otherwise. He was not really about to admit to Celine that he knew next to no magic, never mind a food spell. “Sorry, I can’t think of any,” he said bluntly.

"Oh that's ok." She assured him. "I can go and get some food from someone if you don't mind... I really don't want to leave you alone up here though so I'll try to be back here as soon as possible!" She paused for a moment. "Or... perhaps if you're feeling ok, you can come with me so you won't be alone!" Celine didn't want to leave anyone alone, and also she didn't want to be alone going down stairs to whatever the hell might wait for her.

The idea of getting up right now made him frown slightly, but he dropped his arm back anyway and pushed himself up off the cot. Sitting up made his head pound harder, and he brought a hand to the side of his had, grimacing slightly. Still, he was determined not to be further weakened by whatever this damn spell was, or had been. Perhaps it was out of his system, but it had still done a number on him. Hopefully not permanently. He stood up shakily and leaned against the wall. “I’ll go with you, Miss Bell,” he said resolutely. He was not sure why he was determined to go with her. For protection maybe? Not much he could do in this state, with or without his armor and sword. Which… where was all that anyway? A quick glance at the floor, and he saw his equipment lying against the wall at the foot of his cot. He wasn’t about to start buckling it all on again. He doubted he could hold up under the extra weight. But still, he grabbed his sword belt and buckled it around his waist, keeping it loose so he could still breathe easily. He looked at Celine expectantly.

Her face brightened with joy when she saw that Kain seemed to be alright. “Splendid!” She cheered, heading over to the door and waiting for him. Perhaps if they ran into Ferris and Aeorlas on the way again, they could just tell them that they were getting Kain something to eat. Right! No problem whatsoever! She waited patiently for Kain as he got his sword and belt. It was probably a good thing she asked Kain to come along, besides, she would have been completely afraid if she had gone downstairs on her own. Who knows what could have been waiting for her? A surprised attack from goons taking her away, Bax appeared out of nowhere and perhaps even starting a battle on the spot with her. And if that happened she would basically assure the destruction of the tower once again. If her magic was strong enough to create a crater in the ground or even send her flying out of a tower at high speeds, then yeah… enough said. None the less she felt safe enough that Kain was with her, but something was nagging in her head. What if Kain was weakened by the dark magic? Was he going to be ok to hold his own if something as ridiculous as a surprise attack could in fact happen? She hoped that her mind was just being silly and telling her terrible things that might happen since Bax knows that she’s here.

He followed after her at a much slower pace, sort of dragging his feet. He was alright for the most part save the throbbing pains in his head and body and the apparent weakness that drained him so. Still, he sucked it up and pressed through it, because what else was he going to do? While the Tower did not sound as though it was under attack, if Bax so chose to, he could easily have his hordes come at them again and again till the place was ruins or his army was. Bax had never been known to give up easily when he wanted something, and he would not be the first wizard to challenge the Tower, if such was his goal. Not that Kain knew. He had been in the nearby town to the North for the past twenty-four hours. But if something did happen, Kain would want to be ready. Eating and regaining some of his strength would be a first step in the right direction. He looked up at Celine as he came to the door, and he saw the look of worry on her face. He could guess why. It was well known, especially by now, that Bax had wiped out the Luna Village. He reached out, hesitated, then rested a hand on her shoulder. “You’re safe here, Miss Bell,” he said, in the most comforting voice he could muster, which came out sounding softer than usual. But that might have just been the weakness in him rather than his real feelings. He sounded sincere either way, and that was what mattered.
